Dear Faculty, Instructional Staff, Teaching Assistants and Postdocs,
We are writing to invite you to a one-day workshop “Inclusive Excellence in Teaching, Student Success and Belonging” for all faculty, instructional staff, teaching assistants, and postdocs. The in-person workshop will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. in the Iacocca Hall Wood Dining Room, Mountaintop Campus.
The Theme for the workshop is: “Learning from Peers to Help Shape How We Move Forward in Advancing Student Success and Community of Belonging.”
The workshop will help Lehigh faculty and other instructional staff accomplish the following objectives:
- Discuss perspective on how we might better connect undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoc, and faculty success to ensure long term viability of institutions.
- Learn from peers on examples of innovative work in the classroom to advance excellence for inclusive strategies for teaching, student success and belonging.
- Hear from a panel of department chairs and associate deans.
- Hear from a panel of undergraduate students on their perspectives on excellence in inclusive teaching, student success and belonging.
- Develop concrete implementation plans, in which they commit to several specific actions in their spring ’25 courses and beyond.
