Welcome! This page has information for new and current postdocs to help you get settled in and make the most of the resources available to you at Lehigh.  Onboarding is done primarily at the department level, but we've put together a list of the important items to get you started.

  1. Postdoc Orientation: We're pleased to offer two new types of orientation sessions—Pre-Arrival and Regular Orientation—to support you before and after you arrive. You’re welcome to attend both, and you can join more than once if you’d like.

  2. New Arrival Checklist : A step-by-step guide to help new postdocs navigate administrative tasks, set up their workspace, connect with their team, and access essential resources for a smooth transition.

  3. Employment Policies for Postdocs: Essential information on employment policies including leave, vacation, holidays, working hours, benefits and more.

International Postdoc Survival Guide (NPA): This resource will help international postdoctoral researchers navigate challenges in a new country, covering topics like settling in, workplace culture, career development, and well-being. It offers practical tips for adapting both professionally and personally.

  6. New! Postdoc Buddy Program: Our Postdoc Buddy Program connects incoming postdocs with current colleagues at Lehigh, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for new arrivals. Experienced postdocs serve as informal guides, offering advice about Lehigh University, the local area, and postdoc life.

  7. Mentoring Resources - tools, guidance, and training opportunities to support effective mentor-mentee relationships for postdocs.

  8. Lehigh Postdoctoral Association: We are a dynamic community established by and for postdocs to promote a strong sense of camaraderie and engagement!

  9. Get in Touch: Join our Slack channel, Google Group, and Google Calendar to connect with Lehigh postdocs and stay updated on announcements, opportunities and events.
