Apply Now: Summer CIMER Mentor Training Workshop

Dear Faculty & Postdoctoral Scholars:

You’re invited to apply for a two-day summer workshop to further develop your mentoring practice. This series is open across faculty ranks and disciplines and is particularly useful to faculty and postdocs with research mentees as well as those preparing mentoring plans for extramural grants.

Leveraging the curriculum created by CIMER: the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research, participants will actively engage in case-study based discussions and activities focused on the following topics:

  • June 2: Establishing Expectations and Maintaining Effective Communication
  • June 3: Assessing Understanding, Fostering Independence, and Promoting Self-Efficacy

Workshop Details:

  • Dates: June 2–3, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Location: HST 211
  • Facilitators: Drs. Hutnik and Levine

Participants must commit to both sessions. Space is limited. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate. The workshop is sponsored by the Lehigh ADVANCE Center for Faculty Development and Success,  the Graduate Education and Life Office, and the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.

How to Apply: Please complete the application form by May 15th. The form will ask for your name, contact information, and a brief paragraph about what you hope to gain from the series. Notifications will be sent out following the deadline.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Levine (mjl410@lehigh.edu) or Dr. Hutnik (kaha@lehigh.edu).

We hope you can join us!

Marci Levine, PhD Director, Lehigh ADVANCE Center

Kathleen Hutnik, PhD Associate Deputy Provost for Graduate Education and Life
